5 simple tips for freelance content writers to write engaging content
Here are five tips for freelance content writers to keep in mind when coming up with engaging content.

1. Make the Content Valuable:
Make sure that whatever you are writing is adding value in itself. The most important part of any piece of content is the insight it holds, the value it gives the reader, and its relevance to what it pertains to. It is not necessary you will be writing about a giant problem that has plagued mankind for centuries, but even if you are just writing about your first trip to India or narrating an interesting incident that happened in the office, whatever you write should be valuable enough for the reader to spend his valuable time by reading it.
2. The hook:
Make sure you are able to grab the attention of your readers with a catchy opener that pushes them on and compels them to read further. Ideally, this should be within the first two paragraphs and should not take more than a single line or a simple statement. Do not use any gimmicks here, just be yourself.
3. Appeal to their Senses:
You cannot expect people who don’t even know you to invest time in your articles, let alone read them till the end. So, make sure that by the time they reach your 2nd paragraph they are already invested in what you have to say and hence will continue reading because they have figured out that this is not the usual content that they find online. Make it so engaging for them, use your words in such a manner that they feel like being there on the spot with you and can actually visualize whatever you are talking about.
4. Be Persistent:
It requires effort to write something people would want to read. Nobody is going to read anything that doesn’t appeal to them; they’d rather do what they want to. So, it takes some effort and persistence on your part.
5. Make them Feel:
You have heard time and again about the emotional quotient of writing. What we often forget is that in order for people to feel anything, they must be invested in it. So, the more you make them invest in your piece of writing, the more they will feel about whatever you are going to write about and hence they will also feel more emotionally attached to your content.
In summary, great content is created by people who aspire to enrich other people’s lives. When you are not just thinking about yourself, but considering how the reader might feel and what they might take away from your story, that’s when you’ll know that you are creating something good. And when you are creating something good, then great things happen.
